 Hi Deedra,

I have been reading Joe Brockmeyer's article on packaging debs lately,
after it was referred to in DWN,
and experimented a bit with that.,
which resulted in files with a .deb extension.
Yesterday i succeeded in creating real working debs,
that i can install on my system
(after creating a local repository to get them from)
and it seem to do what it is supposed to.
So there seems to be little need for you to do packaging of it
and seeing that you didnt file an ITP yet, i intend to RFS .
I hope that you didnt already spend time on packaging it.

My package could well be buggy, i'm still busy reading policy,
so i'll ask for someone to check it's packaging,
and, as freeze is getting near, i'll contact maintainers of task packages,
and also ask for a check of perl-related contents on debian-perl,
probably also contact doc to let them know there is a new document,
perhaps they would like to register it somewhere,
in meantime i'll try to streamline it a bit more,
and if nobody volunteers to sponsor it soon, i'll enter NM queue,
and then hopefully it will be included in good shape in sarge !

I am still glad that you are interested in learning Perl from my tutorial,
that atl east makes it a usefull thing to have made,
please feel free to grab latest deb from my homepage,
it is now at version 7.04, with a major rewrite of
section on specifying regexp parameters as variables.

It is a pity that you were too busy to package this,
as i would have preferred to spend more time on contents,
(which could sure do with some extra attention),
however, i am still glad you responded to my RFP,
because it gave me motivation to spend every free minute i had on it.

thanks againg, and have a nice day :-) ,

 Siward
