Okay, I should be more verbose here with my wnpp:

Presently there are two problems with wmcalendar:

1) I am not yet a debian maintainer which means I rely on
   sponsoring. Nevertheless because of 2) I told my sponsor to hold
   back the uploading of wmcalendar.

2) wmcalendar uses libical which is orphaned in debian. It needs a
   recent version of libical and I wanted to adopt and package the rc4
   version but encountered some serious problems. The most important
   is, that libical does not have a proper versioning scheme. It has
   broken binary compatibility (and also the API) without changing the
   SONAME (which is still libical.so.0.0.0). I contacted upstream about
   this and hope that they fix it.

   Until then I can't update libical and thus wmcalendar won't work as
   expected. I'll bug upstream of libical about their issues and maybe
   start fixing it on my own, and as soon as that is done, I will ask
   my sponsor to upload wmcalendar.
