Bug#178113: "Legal Problem" with libpst

ok, debug output is controlled in define.h. There is one define called "#define DEBUG_ALL". Just comment that out and it will not try to do any debug stuff.

As to the Legal Problem that is posted on the sourceforge site.

I have not received any legal statements or letters from any individual with regard to libpst or investigation of the PST format. I did hear rumours that there might be some legal rumblings beginning, but I have seen neither hide nor hair of anything. I am beginning to think it was just a rumour. I did take quite a large jump when I intially heard the rumour, cause I know that if I were to receive a cease and desist, then that would really hurt the development, so I just went quiet on the site so that it would be thought unnecessary to followup. Who knows if it was just a rumour, or was avoided...

Anyway, I am happy continuing development.

Hello Dave!

How do I switch debug off? Did I miss a #define somewhere?

Also, would you mind clarifying the "legal issues" that have put
development on hold?

The reason I ask is that this needs to be cleared up before the package
can be uploaded to debian (see, for example, the thread[0] on
debian-mentors list).

Thanks again for a great app!
