Bug#171588: ITP: pringd -- parallel ring daemon

Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2002-12-03
Severity: wishlist

  Description : parallel ring daemon

The parallel ring daemon (pringd) is a little program that listens
to the RI (Ring Indication) line of your modem. It detects when the
phone rings, and it can execute commands according to ring patterns. The
"parallel" comes from pringd's ability to check for several ring patterns
in parallel.

Pringd does not interfere with mgetty, pppd or other programs that use the
modem, because it uses the modem's RI line instead of sending/receiving
characters.

Pringd was inspired by xringd.

Note: I'm currently in the NM process, so uploads will only be made when
    the application process is finished.
