Severity: wishlist

virtualmail-pop3d is a fork of gnu-pop3d (seperate ITP, looks dead...)
that adds support for virtual email accounts, ie mailboxes that do not
need a UNIX owner per account, which are seperated by domain and have
seperate passwd files for each domain. It is a highly useful service
for internet providers, etc, and as far as I can see, the only
free stable POP3 daemon that supports it out of the box and by design.

It is GPL licensed and downloadable from:
 http://www.reedmedia.net/software/virtualmail-pop3d/

I hope to have it packaged within a week or two, to give it time to
stabilise and be tested prior to woody release.

Regards,
Rob

[CCing you on this Robert Millan, I'm guessing this is what you wanted
to talk to me on IRC about the other day. I never got a mail about it
because I was the ITP submitter of the bug, and you only mailed the bug
itself which only forwards to the developer, in this case WNPP. If
you're interested in this package, feel free to re-open the bug and
make it an RFP or something.]

I did think this program would be the saviour of all my mail problems.
Then I tried to package it, and found it's daemonisation code
(summary: signal? what's a signal?), and then I found nice things like
cyrus version 2, and courier. So I'm not really interested in it any
more. Furthermore, I see no need for this software in Debian. If someone
disagrees they can file a new ITP or an RFP.

Regards,
Rob
