Bug#124357: Debian, Java and Blackdown

Hello world,

I am working to ready openantivirus ScannerDaemon, or parts of it, for
Debian (
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=124357&repeatmerged=yes
). Running test I came of with something I think you should be aware of.

Running Scanner Daemon as ``java -jar ScannerDaemon-0.2.0'' and
connecting trying to scan for a virus as ``SCAN /tmp/lb.doc.pif'' I
receive and OK message. ScanenrDaemon only says:

        Scanning.../tmp/lb.doc.pif...took 22ms
So there are no apprent errors.

Now, when doing exactly the same thing issueing : ``kaffe -jar
ScannerDaemon-0.2.0'' I receive the correct answer

        lars@isidor:~$ nc localhost 8127
        SCAN /tmp/lb.doc.pif
        FOUND: Sircam (F-Prot)
        lars@isidor:~$

That is using Blackdown Java 2r1.3 ScannerDaemon silently reports no
virus.

I will now try and upgrade java, scannerdaemon and everything, but it is
still a cause of worry that your choice of java virtual machine can make
such a difference, at least silently.
