Bug#174338: RFA: file -- Determines file type using "magic" numbers

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

The old maintainer of file, Nicolás Lichtmaier (nick), is apparently
not active anymore. This package is thus being orphaned now. Since
Michael Piefel <piefel@debian.org> has done several NMUs, it would be
good if he took the package. So, give Michael a chance to adopt this
package. If he's not interested, the package is free to take. Please
contact Michael and me.

[ Justification: he has not been seen for months. He was last seen on Debian
lists in Oct 2001; he was on ICQ but isn't anymore. I hope you're well, Nick. ]
