It all looks good to me, so, as you may have noticed I have now
uploaded your package. It should enter unstable within the next few
days, basically it depends a lot on how busy the ftpmasters are as
they have to ok every new package.

I'm glad to hear you are going to apply what you have learnt from this
package to the others that you are interested in maintaining. I think
you will find you continue to learn lots from packaging different
things for quite some time to come, I know that's true for me.

One thing I would strongly advise is that you try to understand what
every part of the package does, whether that's the debian/control or
the debian/rules. Don't just trust the templates created by dh_make
(or dh_make_perl) to be correct, they cannot cater for all possible
eventualities. Particularly important is understanding what the
various parts of the debian/rules file do, your AM may well get you to
have a go at doing the whole thing without using debhelper. If he
doesn't then it's still a good intellectual exercise to help you
understand what each command does.

If you have any new versions of the libcarp-assert-perl package that
you want uploaded in the future then I will be happy to oblige. I'll
send an email to your AM saying that I have uploaded one of your
packages and let him know that it is you that has done the work in
getting it into shape and not me.

I hope your application to be a Debian developer goes well,

Stephen Quinney
