well, if by developer you mean member i'm not a project member yet. i
do contribute periodicaly on what i can, though.

in debian we always try to get the most useful software we can in the
distribution.

great. you need a Debian Developer to sponsor your package. I'd be glad
to do it but can't untill my NM queue is finished (which could take long).

most active developers have been notified of this ITP through the debian-devel
mailing list, you could ask there or in debian-mentors for an sponsor.

yes, it's the usual US legislative insanity.

no. depending only on free software is necessary to be part of debian
(otherwise you'd get it in contrib), but the problem is that mp3-decoding
in US is now basicaly illegal.

sure. i'll look at it this afternoon or tomorrow, whenever i have time.
where are the package sources?

I can't evaluate the Perl Policy related issues because i haven't read
it or know a bit of perl, but will check that the package conforms to
the Debian Policy.
