Bug#133996: [Re:] RFP: Abispell - Multilingual dictionaries for spell checking in Abiword
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Abispell is a group of dictionaries for the spell checker of Abiword. It
is necessary for all the languages apart from english.
As far as I know they are the ispell normal dicts, but compiled with
MAXSTRINGCHARS=128, see e.g.
http://bugs.debian.org/102607
Current dicts in Debian are not compiled with MAXSTRINGCHARS=128, but
future new policy dicts are, so I see no need to have those ispell
hashes and aff files duplicated in the filesystem. Abiword can use the
new policy ispell dicts, probably requiring only some symlinks.
We would like to have that policy fully implemented not later that this
summer, but this depends on the ispell dictionaries maintainers, so
please be patient. For more details about this policy please see:
http://dict-common.sourceforge.net/
Saludos,
Agustin
