This is true -- kind of. Nagios and netsaint are, in fact, the same
package. From the netsaint.org website:

" NetSaint is not affiliated with World Wide Digital Security, Inc.
(WWDSI); Richard S. Carson and Associates, Inc; and the marks WEB
SAINT, SAINT, SAINTWRITER, SAINTEXPRESS, and SAINTBASIC owned by
Richard S. Carson and Associates, Inc. "

There were legal threats made concerning the name.

Ethan decied to change names and registered a trademark for the new
name (nagios) to prevent that kind of harassment in the future.

This brings two questions to mind:

1) Does the trademark represent any legal problems to Debian? (I think
not, as linux us also trademarked, but it may entail some additional
step of receiving permission to redistribute.)

2) Since it is, in fact, the same package as netsaint with only the
name changed, has the current netsaint packager
Turbo Fredriksson <turbo@debian.org> been contacted?
