Bug#143281: RFP: scummvm -- free implementation of LucasArts S.C.U.M.M.
Just noticed the request for this. I'm one of the lead developers on the
project.
As Andrew pointed out, we are currently breaking the GPL. I only realised
this a few days ago when I was doing my usually 'scummvm' google search
and noticed another message from him on debian-devel pointing this out.
We've contacted the maintainer of the offending file (fmopl.c/fmopl.h,
which was taken from MAME) and asked if he can grant us permission to use
the file licensed as GPL.
If we do not get a positive reply by the time 0.2.0 is official released,
in a week or so we hope, we will rewrite the code or find a GPLed
replacement. So either way, the official 0.2.0 release will be properly
GPLed, and we would in fact love to see the package officially in Debian.
