Coin is a 3D graphics toolkit (C++) that implements the
Open Inventor 2.1 API.  Coin (Open Inventor) is a retain-mode
rendering library on top of OpenGL.  It supports .iv and .wrl
(VMRL1) 3D model files natively.  It uses simage (simage1 -
separate ITP) for support for external texture files.
