Package: wine
Version: 1.4.1-4
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
Installing Battlefield 1942 temporarily disables the GNOME desktop on Wheezy.
The problem occurs when the InstallShield wizard begins installing the game
from the CD. The top menu bar disappears, and none of the open windows can
be manipulated. The mouse is still movable, so the system does not freeze,
but unless the wizard is closed, the desktop (apart from the wizard itself)
is completely unusable. I have not tested with different programs, so I do not
know if the problem is in Battlefield 1942 or in the InstallShield wizard, but
I am guessing that since the system froze when it used installshield to begin
installing the game, and that since the problem occurred every time I went through
the process again, that the problem lies in the wizard.
Steps to reproduce:
Insert disk
Run autorun.exe with wine
Reach install step with InstallShield Wizard
Begin install
