Package: wine
Version: 1.6.2-6
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I'm unable to run 32bit binaries on my 64bit debian jessie environment. Tried to install wine32 but it's not available for amd64.

sb@s1:~$ wine Downloads/setup_dungeon_keeper_gold_2.0.0.4.exe
unable to find wine executable: the wine32 package probably needs to be installed.

Do i miss something?

Stefan

Please open a new bug instead of reopening old ones for "related"
things. Bugs are cheap, everyone may have one! More seriously,
reopening just clutters the information in a given bug. Further e.g. the
wine version targeted in this bug is quite probably not affected by your
issue.
Therefore I'm closing this bug here again.

Please explain "obviously"[1]:
Here this just works fine: libsystemd0:i386 and libsystemd0:amd64 are
coinstalled.
Or maybe you are trying to run a system without systemd installed? I'm
not sure if for this purpose it's really required to not install
libsystemd0.
Or you've mistaken systemd as the wrong scapegoat.
Whatever, for a start e.g. the output of "apt install wine32" should help.

Besides that: libsystemd0 is depended upon by libdbus-1-3 and libpulse0,
which are depended upon directly and indirectly by libwine. It seems
only the dependency chain
 libwine depends:
 libpulse0 depends:
 libsystemd0
is a hard one which can't be circumvented (all others use recommends
somewhere). If this dependency on libsystemd0 should really be a problem
then it was probably introduced with 1.7.55.

So whatever, please dig into this and if necessary file a new bug
against the wine version that you are using.

just points to the weak point in a chain of proof.
