Line is no emulator ;o)
Hi
Would it be possible to run ELF binaries compiled for linux
directly under Windows (like Wine¹ runs EXE files under Linux)?
The idea is:
o Only very few packages would have to be recompiled. Maybe,
the result would still fit on the official Debian GNU/Linux
CD #1.
o At the moment, Linux-CDs in magazines are only meant to be
test-versions (mostly only CD #1). On the other hand, there
are magazines that include any redistributable
Windows-software. So, if Linux packages would run under
Windows, the latter magazines would maybe always distribute
the newest official Debian GNU/Linux set.
Bye,
Thomas

¹) BTW: I have problems to run Cygwin under Wine. Has anyone
managed to do that?
