I tried that, too, but it doesn't show all the devices at once. I still have to use the sound settings panel to select a particular device.

It puzzles me, somewhat, because I think one of qjackctl goals is to act as an audio patch bay (sorry if I use the wrong terms) but the user have to start Jackd and set up qjackctl with adequate "connections":
