The mutating MAC shouldn't matter. I thing the problem is that the machine has many interfaces, one after another, after each (reboot? whatever event causes the dongle to change MAC?). Just not all at the same time. This is due to the "predictable" interface naming, which ploughs anything random it can grab (bus number, MAC address) into the network device name. Vnstat seems to assign the traffic to this ever-changing interface name. But I'm reading between the lines, so take my guesses with a shovel of salt. Cheers -- t
