It is a cd and 0ne of a set of 3 to install linux debian.  It has UEFI for sure.  I can use my computer to put disk one on a usb drive.  Or maybe it would be better if I bought one.

Please do not top post as the list czars will start to throw a fit.

If it has UEFI it can not be that old then. I would try booting from Live CD (KDE / GNOME) If you can get the live CD to boot and all the hardware works you can install Debian from the live environment.

Is the USB you are trying to boot from a USB CD/DVD drive or a USB Thumb Drive?

A friend of mine bought a refurbished computer.  It is an all in one ThinkCenter by Lenova.  I have changed settings in the CMOS so that the USB would show up first.  Nothing that I have done works.  It just says no files to load and I tried many times.  It is an older computer and it weights a ton.  Can anyone tell me how to get Linux on this machine.  Since I did not buy this one I have no idea what is inside of it.  Hope some knows how to get around this problem.

Which installer are you trying to use (DVD/Live)? Does the PC have BIOS or UEFI? Have you tried booting from CD/DVD? Some older computers do not properly boot from USB.
