Laggy and crackly audio after updating to Trixie

(Please cc me as I'm not subscribed to the mailing list)

Hello,

After updating my laptop to Trixie, the audio gets crackly and laggy when the CPU usage spikes (e.g. video calls with screen sharing). What's worse is that it's not only the reproduced audio; recorded audio also gets crackly and hard to hear, as I've learned from complaints coming from my coworkers. This renders my laptop effectively unusable for work meetings.

It wasn't like that on Bookworm. Any ideas what might have changed to cause this problem? The only meaningful change after the update was the switch from X11 to Wayland.

Thanks in advance.
