I have a TCL Flip 2 phone (model 4058G).  I've just switched to this phone, having gone through a few phones to find one I like.  And, of course, my calendar and address book are lost each time.  I've been able to hook up a USB cable to the phones and access pictures and music files, but apparently the calendar and address book are hidden someplace secret.  On the older phones, I was able to configure the USB port as mass storage and just copy files back and forth, but I don't see that option on this phone.  However, I found the gmtp utilitiy, which is able to look through the phone and copy picture and music files using MTP. However, I see no filesystem entries for the calendar and address book. Is there a way to access these files, or are they customarily hidden in a restricted area?

I'm running Debian Bookworm (12.11) on an Intel Core i5-4690.

I tried plugging my phone into my wife's Macbook, but got nowhere there either.

Whilst I believe that the query is significantly off-topic for the list (Just because you have Debian on your computer, does not mean that asking for instructions on how to do an oil change on your car, is relevant to the list), I had understood that such data would be stored on the cellphone SIM card.

You might want to access the cellphone user's manual, to find whether the data is stored by default, on the SIM card, or, if not, how to get it stored on the cellphone SIM card.
