Because downloading a minimal install image will take a heck of a lot less time and be a heck of a lot more reliable than coming up with silly ways to guess the answer? Because it's more likely than not it will work fine, so your odds of wasting time are much lower by simply starting then install process? Because guessing things about the machine is unlikely to identify whether there are drivers available for all the components, and the fastest & easiest way to determine that is, again, to just boot it up? Because it's not really necessary to waste more time arguing in favor of a bad alternative?
