But in the context of a RAID array (or any situation similar to a RAID
array), you *do* need to worry [about accidentally buying one] because
their performance profile is such that they *don't* just work for that
use case, not as you would want anyway.

It's not normally hard in 2025 to tell from specs what is and isn't an
SMR drive though.
