Traditionally, support has been poor. For example, I run old Ubuntu
20.04 LTS on my only currently running RPi since in 2020 Ubuntu booted
on it, it being the Compute Module 3+ kind with a Waveshare
baseboard. Debian didn't boot.
This link was recently posted here: https://raspi.debian.net/ but under
tested images I don't see anything specifically for RPi5.

Do you think your friends are up to ordering the bits for an RPI5
computer, assembling it and installing an OS on it, Windows or
otherwise?
