Ideally, at this point, use Debian 13 (Trixie) which has just been released.
There are still issues with the latest WiFi 7 chipsets - earlier chipsets
should work. (I normally use second-user laptops which are one or two years
old).
There are occasional issues where Debian is not able to run on the very
newest hardware. Firmware does eventually get updated with any luck.
