I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. i386, arm64 and amd64 all work exactly as I expect. armhf I assume, but don't use. But armel is not included in LTS (since stretch!)

I'm not wanting or needing LTS but for my testing I want to use the last possible version.

In another answer it was confirmed that I just need to use the packages from archive.debian.org and ignore debian-security - so I'm sorted.
