Why not change it to what you like?


Either you are using emacs in a terminal, in which case the
terminal font is what you want to change, or you are using emacs
in X11 mode, and so:

Many fonts are available in Debian; I rather like Inconsolata
for monospace applications. However, arguing about font choice
is completely ridiculous: find something you like.
