It depends on your hardware and how you use it:
- Do you have significantly more than 2G of RAM?
- Do you (have application that) use /tmp a lot?
If you have more than 2G of RAM but not much more, a possibly
interesting middle-ground would be to keep the tmpfs on /tmp and
repurpose the old partition as swap.
