But you didn't check? The release notes tell a different story.

After I installed it,inxi -G reported the nouveau driver was being used. I didn't look in dmesg to check for a reason why the NVidia driver hadn't been loaded.

NVidia recommends the 570 driver.

They always recommend the latest.
