For what little it might be worth, I am unable to reproduce this. I
installed a fresh Debian 12 VM based on my template [1] (basically the
standard and ssh-server tasks only), upgraded that directly to sid as
of just now, and then ran `apt install redis`. It installed cleanly.

The only possibly significant difference I can see is that I'm running
on amd64 whereas your attempt was on arm64; but I honestly fail to see
why such a difference would manifest itself in the kind of error you
got.
