hobbit:~$ umask 077
hobbit:~$ umask
0077
hobbit:~$ sudo -s
[sudo] password for greg: 
root@hobbit:/home/greg# umask
0077
root@hobbit:/home/greg# exit
exit
hobbit:~$ sudo -i
root@hobbit:~# umask
0077
root@hobbit:~# exit
logout
hobbit:~$ sudo bash -c umask
0077
hobbit:~$ umask 022
hobbit:~$ sudo bash -c umask
0022
