I was thinking in terms of "a terminal emulator with graft-on funny functionality as a monolithic application" vs. "a dedicated application with a standard terminal emulator hanging off one socket (or PTY), a standard SSH hanging off another and a printer hanging off a TTY" or something. The idea of having one "wire" (aka net connection) to the terminal and hang the printer on that isn't bad per se. After all, the person standing at the terminal is the one who wants to see the paper receipt. Cheers -- t
