The arguments after find which don't begin with "-" are the starting
point(s). In this case, your command asks find to start in "." which
is the current directory.
If you were to run something like
find /tmp /var -iname '*.log'
then it would look for pathnames ending with .log (case-insensitive)
starting in /tmp and /var.
