But @Greg, if you have "Defaults use_pty" why haven't you been getting the same instant aborts that I was?
Because it's NOT in /etc/sudoers. It's in /etc/sudoers.dpkg-dist which
is what WOULD have been installed if I had chosen to overwrite my
existing conffile with the new one. But I didn't.
