Hi Mario,

That's an Ubuntu bug on Ubuntu which has been fixed recently in Ubuntu.
Ubuntu does things differently - I can't give you any advice for fixing
Ubuntu beyond a good guess.

Which machine is this - maker?

Can you give more details of _which_ Debian installer you used - i386 / amd64?

How recently did you install? 

Did the machine fail to boot immediately?

If you try to mix Debian and Ubuntu packages, we cannot help you reliably -
see https://wiki.debian.org/DontBreakDebian
