on my Acer Swift 3 it does look like i2c_hid is loaded.

maybe use to look at xinput; if I run xinput on my Acer Swift 3, I get

	ELAN1300:00 04F3:3028 Touchpad   id=14

in my case the touchpad is already enabled; I disable it by hand as I 
cannot tolerate touchpads:

	xinput	enable	14
