No, but it does allow you to get a DVD sized image over a number 
of days or a much longer period by connecting as/when you can or taking
the opportunity of a higher bandwidth connection somewhere as and 
when available.

I have good internet bandwidth here so not a problem - but the fact that
jigdo is restartable at any point is a plus if you're obliged to use it.
