You mean that you'd like to take picture in live view ? Because that's exactly how live view work, it raise the mirror and display the sensor on your back screen (or a tethered display) and allow you to take picture. The only thing that will be tricky and require to do some hand coding will be if you want to use wifi based tethering. As long you use the USB cable it will all be good. I use a old PowerShot S2 IS as my webcam and often took picture with my EOS. One thing, you'll be able to have a preview only if your camera model already include this features. On the model that don't have built-in live view, you'll only get the possibility to take tethered shooting, that is to push the shutter from your computer. > I could try but I thought I'd ask first. I could give you all the answer in the world and it could still happens that you end up with a "no luck" situation where your camera model is not supported. Well, I doubt here because Canon camera have a pretty good support with Entanble / Darktable. Still, give it a try, where's the risk ? Don't be scared, go forward ;-) Hope this help ! > mick -- Polyna-Maude R.-Summerside -Be smart, Be wise, Support opensource development
