Well, you're asking in the wrong place. We're just end users
here. If
you want the tools to behave differently, you need to get in
touch with
their respective developers or support forums.

Maybe you can use "systemd-escape" utility to unescape messages
before sending them via mail.
Systemd is quite complex tool and just as every other tool you have
to learn how to use it.
