Check in the BIOS settings - the drive may be configured in "RAID"
mode. If so, switching to "AHCI" will most likely solve your problem.

Good idea if it was a desktop and if the drive wasn't NVME (although
2020 saw some desktops with dual NVME slots). Seems a long shot for a
laptop (even a used one as this might be).
