So I installed Debian on a 2011 iMac and it is working ok, except for the sound. There is no sound from either the speaker or the headphone jack.
When I go to the system settings, the volum option is completely greyed out.
Running cat /proc/asound/cards in UXTerm returned this:
0 [PCH ]:HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH
HDA Intel PCH at 0xa8900000 irq 47
1 [HDMI ]: HDA-Intel - HDA ATI HDMI
HDA ATI HDMI at 0xa8840000 irq 48
I am wondering why the speaker and headphone jack would not work when the sound card is recognized? Thanks very much.
