I'm curious for more on this perspective.

Security is not so much one or two big things, but a lot of little
things you do.

And there are major avenues of exploitation to which almost no one
still gives notice, inasmuch as those avenues are becoming
increasingly difficult to avoid. A prime example is email
communication with anyone who has a gmail account. The ultimate
purpose of security is to guard against loss of things of value.
Sadly, in this day of Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant (and, of
course, the Google search engine, social media, and smartphones with
cameras), Society has been conditioned to view as essential and even
beneficial radical reordering of historical priorities and scales of
value. Consequently, few today place the least value on privacy. From
another perspective, the gods (among which are Immediate Gratification
and Universal Connectivity) worshipped by this generation demand the
sacrifice of privacy. Would any of the youth of the present day
apprehend the message of Orwell in "1984"?
