Dolphin requests I send a bug report when I invoke it, and Abiword crashes when I try to click on preferences. Out of desperation I put the machine online, and used Berkley.edu repositories to update anything. It did not change any of the problems. I will now probably trash all 16 dvd's since I no longer trust them (all sha256sums were correct). What a waste of time and bandwidth. Apparently I have to go back to Debian 9 to work with the programs I like. Also to work without fears of more hidden problems. I will probably hang on to the dvd's for a short time since I do not like to act impulsively. But how long I am not sure since I see no way to trust them again.
