Even though the Qt 5.11 transition is not complete, this morning it had
advanced far enough for "apt-get dist-upgrade -V" to succeed for me
without package removals.

Glad it worked out.
As for me, I think I will just wait until the "transition" is over (or at least this part of it) before upgrading packages with dependency issues.
When in doubt, do nothing.
