Just to clarify, on my laptop, I do want resolvconf installed, since
when I'm on my home LAN, I want to use the DNS server running on the
local router / gateway, and when I'm anywhere else, I want to use the
ISP's nameservers. With resolvconf, I add a "dns-nameservers
nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn" line to the LAN section of /etc/network/interfaces to
accomplish this via resolvconf.
