i test it, it's option i need

(i thought they are two tasks, one for live recording,
the other for clip extraction from a existing video file
so there should be two options

it turns out -endpos is for both task)

That is right. But with -endpos you can do what you want.

If you start at the beginning, endpos is the same as duration.

If you start at a later point, say t, endpos = duration + t

So I hope you can achieve your aim anyway.
