Re: Recent update/upgrade to my Debian system on Jessie 8 and now will not boot.



My apologies for not providing that information earlier.

I was able to resolve the issue by using "acpi=off single" on the grub boot line to get back into the rescue prompt.

At that point I updated and upgraded my system to get the latest, attempted "startx" to start KDE, without success (black screen only).

Rebooted the computer and followed the instructions for Debian Jessie at: https://wiki.debian.org/ATIProprietary#jessie

This resolved the issue...

Can you please a bit more precise! Noone here can see what is happening
there.
Update : From? To? Result? any messages or errors during update (or
upgrade)?
How did you update (upgrade).
What do yo see when you boot?
Anything else? Encrypted LVM? Other bootloader than grub2? other os on that
machine?
