I have tried many mirrors some from US, and ftp.au.debian.org and ftp.ca.debian.org and ... all are slow is that because i use device name eth1?? the strange thing is during "apt-get update" all mirrors are quick when I use "apt-get install" all mirrors becomes slow i regret i install stretch (i am happy with jessie)
