Do you have 'xserver-xorg-video-intel' installed?  If not install it and
see if your missing firmware goes away.

xserver-xorg-video-intel might actually be a problem. If installed, Xorg uses it if you don't explicitly override. It's no longer the driver of choice for most Intel gfxchips. If you're not using an antique Intel gfxchip, you probably prefer the modesetting driver that is integral to the server:
