Useless use of sudo. Root privileges are not needed to display interface status. You may just need to use the full pathname /sbin/ifconfig because /sbin is not in the default user PATH.

No eth0! Instead I have enp4s6!

ifconfig shows that the interface is named eth0 and is activated (UP) and configured, so the issue is different.
